Andrew "Andy" D. Jackson, 61, of Nokomis, died on Monday, April 1, 2019, at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Huff, minister of Grace Baptist Church of Nokomis, officiating. Burial will take place in Price Cemetery in Oconee.

Mr. Jackson was born Nov. 19, 1957, in Hillsboro, to the late Willie M. and Alice (Klee) Jackson.

He graduated from Nokomis High School and raised German Shepherds for many years. He was a member of the kennel associations including the Continental Kennel Club, American Kennel Club and the American Canine Association.

Mr. Jackson was known for being a lone soul most of the time, but those he shared his time with were great friends. He was also known for being difficult at times, but had a big heart underneath it all. 

He enjoyed being in the country and raising and loving his dogs.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his sister, Martha Arkebauer of Oconee; nephew, Bob Arkebauer; and a great-niece, Nicole Arkebauer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Arkebauer; and a nephew, Willie Joe.
