Ann E. Tex, 72, of Scottsdale, AZ died Jan. 7, 2024, with family by her side.
Arrangements were made by Messinger Mortuary of Scottsdale, AZ.
Mrs. Tex was born May 22, 1951 in Muncie, IN, to Earl and Lorene Wagner. She was a precious only child. The small family moved from Indiana to Arizona to Illinois, finally settling in Sullivan.
Mrs. Tex graduated from Sullivan High School in 1969. She was an active teen, straight A student and played piano, as well as participated in square dancing with the Taylorville Twillers. This was where she met her future husband, Nick Tex.
After high school, the young couple attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy, both graduating in 1974. They married in 1973, and were the proud parents of four boys, three of whom were adopted.
The couple were also entrepreneurs when they owned and operated Tex Family Pharmacy in Litchfield. After that, Mrs. Tex worked as a pharmacist for CVS and Walgreens until relocating to Scottsdale, AZ in 2001. She worked as head pharmacist at Scottsdale Healthcare, and continued her education, obtaining a MBA from University of Phoenix. She retired from being a pharmacist in 2018.
The couple were avid art and Haviland China collectors. They travelled a lot and enjoyed retirement. Mrs. Tex continued certification training in HIPPA compliance in pharmacy and mental health in pharmacy setting.
Mrs. Tex is survived by her sons, Tony, Christopher and David; and grandson Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Lorene Wagner; as well as husband Nick Tex; son, Jon Tex; granddaughter, Charlotte Tex; and brother-in-law, Mike.
