Anna Mae Scheldt, 92, of Litchfield, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at 10:22 p.m. at Evergreen Place in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Bishop Lonnie Bruce of the Church of Latter-Day Saints officiating. Burial will be held in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield.

Mrs. Scheldt was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Virden, a daughter of Stewart and Anna Myrtle (Westfall) Barker. She married Elmer Harry (Jake) Scheldt, Jr. on April 12, 1947, in Virden, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2007.

A homemaker, she was also a bus driver for the Litchfield Community School District #12. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Litchfield. She was a member and past Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose in Litchfield, as well as an election judge for several years.

She hosted rotary foreign exchange students, and she and her husband were foster care parents. She enjoyed camping and boating, and she loved to cook, and was known for her peanut brittle recipe.

She is survived by four sons, David (Cora) Bethard of Apache Junction, AZ, Harry (Faye) Scheldt of Wickenburg, AZ, Mark (Rosalynn) Scheldt of St. Peters, MO, and Matthew (Ramona) Scheldt of Litchfield; three daughters, Cheryl Braye of Mesa, AZ, Carol (Lee) Lazenby of Taylor Springs and Dara Williams-Byington of Logan, UT; one sister-in-law, Shirley Rives-Royer of Carlinville; 18 grandchildren, Lisa Hamilton (companion Rodney Harrell), Lori Lazenby, Phillip Bethard, Kimberly (Adam) Nickles, Crystal (Sonny) Chavez, Michelle (Jerry) Selsor, Chris Scheldt (companion Trisha Beal), Brandy (Donnie) Davis, Brandon (Leslie) Scheldt, Sarah Scheldt, McKenna Scheldt, Madison Westbrook, Dakota Westbrook, Nicole (Tyrell) Sherman, Aimee (Brandon) Lewis, Katrina (Kevin) Byington, Sean Byington and Jennifer Byington; 20 great-grandchildren, McKayla and Garret Bethard, Abby, Selah, and David III Chavez, Jimmy (Rio) Flesch, Rami Mueller, Riley Blackwell, Drake Ondrey, Logan Jarman, Aiden Davis, Willow Davis, Jacob, Blake and Ben Selsor, Skylar Beal, Ryan, Kylie and Noah Sherman and Kamryn Byington; and seven great-great-grandchildren, Karmyn, Ethan and Owen Flesch, Camilla, Cecillia and Wayne Armbruster and Amyra Ondrey.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Lorris Tolliver, Lesley Tolliver, John D. Barker, George W. Barker and James H. Barker; two sisters, Alegria Barker-Kogen and Elizabeth "Betty" Barker-Rimin; and one son-in-law, Brian Braye.
