A rain delay and a power outage didn't stop the sixth edition of the Arrowhead Open from being another win for Nokomis athletes on Saturday, Aug. 17.
The annual golf tournament, held at Indian Springs Golf Course in Coffeen, has raised more than $125,000 in its first five years and the sixth annual event should up that total even more.
This year's winners were the team of Brett Jaeger, Tate Snyder, Nick Brockmeyer and Reese Snyder, with Tyler Herpstreith's team winning the skin on the seventh hole with a two. Both Herpstreith's team and the Security National Bank team donated their cash winnings back to the Arrowhead Open.
Other winners on the day were Britton Kettelkamp for longest drive, Jordan Pesko for longest putt and Travis Stewart for closest to the pin.
This year's Arrowhead Open raffle winners were Maggie Lamb for a Camp Chef SmokePro Pellet Grill and a $200 Kroger’s Gift Card, Bridget Hill for an iRobot Roomba and Kim Seiz for a $300 Scheels gift card. Gayla Coss, Patty Herpstreith, Kenny Ernst and Kyle Jackson also won $100 cash in the raffle.
The grand total for this year's event will be announced later in the school year.
