Arthur David “Dave” Baugher, 83, of Hillsboro, died on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 3:35 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
Due to social distancing guidelines that prohibit public gatherings, private family graveside services will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro with the Rev. Randy Sands, pastor of Free Methodist Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mr. Baugher was born Sept. 30, 1936, in Irving, to Arthur Ewen and Thelma Georgia (Stokes) Baugher. He married Sharon Green, and they later divorced. He later married Beverly (Bondurant) Price on June 5, 1971, at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, and she survives.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he served as an electrician mate on board the USS Intrepid, and retired from Granite City Steel.
Mr. Baugher was a lifetime member of the Moose Club #1377 in Hillsboro. He coached and was very active in baseball when his sons played, and loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. During his lifetime, he lived in Hillsboro and Edwardsville, from 1963 to 1969.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Toby (wife Jennifer) Baugher, Chris (wife Mika) Baugher, both of Litchfield, Robert Baugher and Vicky Bond, both of Naples, FL; one stepson, Todd Price of Hillsboro; five grandchildren, Anna Baughter, Ryan Baugher, Owen Baugher, Peyton Baugher and Caitlin Bond; seven stepgrandchildren, Kiry Aumann, Kimber Price, Kassie Price, Brandi Descamps, Heather Self, Tyler Rosemeyer and Clinton Rosemeyer; 11 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Joe (wife Mary) Baugher of Schram City and Marty Giberson of Shelbyville.
Mr. Baugher was preceded in death by his parents; stepdaughter, Jill Price Loftin; and siblings, Vada Bandy, Wilma Maxine Baugher, George A. Baugher and Betty L. Funk.
