Augusta (Pfeifer) Hartman, 86, of Coffeen, died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2019, at 11:12 a.m. at her residence.

A private family funeral service will be held at Toberman-Dean Funeral Home in Coffeen, with the Rev. Gene Dunkley, pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Coffeen officiating. Burial will be held in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.

Mrs. Hartman was born April 6, 1933, in Coffeen, to the late John and Althea (Thacker) Pfeifer. She married Estell McNew, and he preceded her in death. She later married Tom Hartman, and he preceded her in death.

She lived in Coffeen her entire life. She was an LPN at Greenville Hospital in Greenville, and then Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Nursing in Hillsboro. 

A member of the Lutheran Church in Irving, she was an avid reader. She played the piano and loved to dance.

She is survived by her children, Diane McNew Eleopoulas of Springfield, Doris Milslagle of Coffeen, Estell Eugene McNew of Coffeen, identical twins, Darlene (husband Rocky) Jones of Coffeen and Delores Wells of Coffeen, and Debra Kay (McNew) of Coffeen; 16 grandchildren, Karma Lacquement, Maresa Bradford, Chris Lentz, Adrienne Griffith, Mark Davis II, Chuck McNew, Natalie Maier, Stephanie Stewart, Jennifer Darnell, Aaron Jones, Rachel Courtnay, Mike Wells, Corey Wells, Benny Wells, Cara Kay White and Ryan Civitate; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul Pfeifer.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
