Austin D. Luckett, 33, recently of Hillsboro, died on Friday, May 9, 2025, at his residence.

Per his families wishes, Mr. Luckett will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date in northern Illinois. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Luckett was born on Aug. 12, 1991, in Waukegan, the son of Larry Luckett and Liane (Platt) Luckett. He lived in Palos Hills up until the first grade when his family built a home in Lemont. He attended the Lemont school district until he graduated from Lemont High School. Mr. Luckett had since moved to Hillsboro and was employed as a hotel auditor at the Baymont by Wyndham Hotel in Litchfield.

Mr. Luckett was a fun-loving soul that always had a joke to tell or something hilarious to say. He adored his beloved family and was also a huge lover of animals. Any animal that was in his presence knew he had a kind heart and would always find their way to him. Mr. Luckett did not just have a passion for his family and animals though; he spent a lot of hours learning and mastering the art of skateboarding. Mr. Luckett knew how to make those around him nervous by performing insane stunts on the skateboard, but everyone knows Austin knew what he was doing and to let him perfect his craft. Mr. Luckett was a knowledgeable person, not just with skateboarding, but having always kept up with the nation’s events and making sure that he knew what was going on in the world around him.

Mr. Luckett is survived by his beloved family, parents Larry Luckett of Hillsboro and Liane (companion, Jay VonOsinski) Luckett of Homer Glen; half-brother, Gregory Luckett of Washougal, WA, and twin siblings, Chloe (husband, Jon) Shileny of Tiney Park and Nolan Luckett of Peoria; niece, Nadia Shileny of Tinley Park and nephews, Caleb and Gabe Luckett of Washougal, WA; fraternal grandmother, Sonya Luckett of Hillsboro; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandfather, Lawrence “Larry” Luckett; and maternal grandparents, Don and Patricia Platt.
