Barbara Ann Fenton, 78, of Hillsboro, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at 4:55 a.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 15, beginning at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro with the Rev. Jeff Hemken, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro officiating. Family and friends may join the procession to the cemetery at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro at 10:45 a.m. Those attending the services are asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Mrs. Fenton was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Hillsboro, to Harold and Gladys (Christian) Morrell. She married Bruce Fenton on Oct. 10, 1987, in Hillsboro, and he survives.

She retired from the Hillsboro School District #3 after 27 years of service.

A lifelong Hillsboro resident, Mrs. Fenton was known for sewing and making boutique Barbie Doll clothes for many little girls in the area. She loved children and babysat for many.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Bob (wife Tina) Whitlow of Pawnee, Bill (wife Patti) Whitlow of Witt and Karen (husband Jeff) Dozier of Springfield; one stepson, Bruce E. (wife Angelia) Fenton, Jr. of Mt. Clair; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Fenton was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Borror; and brother-in-law, Danny Borror.
