Barbara E. Jaeger, 86

Barbara Ellen Jaeger, 86, of Glen Carbon, died on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020, at 7:15 p.m. at Meridian Village in Glen Carbon.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Harvel. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 12 p.m. at the church with Vicar Joe Nehring officiating. Burial will be held in Harvel Cemetery. Plummer Funeral Home of Litchfield is assisting the family.

Mrs. Jaeger was born May 25, 1933, in Beardstown, to Ernest Arthur and Dorothy Marie (Smith) Little. She married John Herman Jaeger on Nov. 22, 1953, in Harvel, and he preceded her in death on June 23, 2013.

She was a farmwife and homemaker who enjoyed bowling, playing cards and spending her winters in Florida with her husband. She especially loved her family and was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jaeger was known to be a good cook. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aid in Harvel. 

She is survived by four sons, Mark (Lisa) Jaeger of Harvel, Kevin (Carmen) Jaeger of Raymond, Paul (Kristie) Jaeger of Kincaid and Bradley (Eva) Jaeger of Hillsboro; a daughter, Janna (Scott) Evers of Edwardsville; ten grandchildren, Matthew (Kara) Evers, Todd Jaeger, Jason (Lauren) Jaeger, Chase Jaeger, Hannah (Jeremiah) Jaeger, Alan (Cassie) Jaeger, Brian (Deni) Jaeger, Edward (Jessica) Jaeger, Andrew (Chelsie) Jaeger and Rachel (Caleb) Jaeger; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Hoffman of Beardstown; brother-in-law, Lester Jaeger of Litchfield; and sisters-in-law, Gertrude Brockmeyer of Raymond and Alberta Smith of Morrisonville.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
