Barbara “Fern” Chance, 91 of Kincaid, died at 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Private family graveside services will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is assisting her family with arrangements.
Mrs. Chance was born in Switchback, WV, on Feb. 12, 1929, the daughter of Archie C. and Lorena C. (Clark) Henley. She married Bobby Gene Chance in 1947 at the Kincaid United Methodist Church, and he preceded her in death June 19, 2020.
Mrs. Chance was a member of Taylorville United Methodist Church and a former member of the St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She loved being a snowbird in Florida and cherished the time she got to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (David) Menossi of Taylorville, Janet Meikle of Taylorville and Barbara (Bill) Mulvaney of Kincaid; grandchildren Chris Menossi, Chad Menossi, Angie (Eric) Gerlach of rural Waggoner, Lisa (Dustin Lush) Mulvaney, Danny Meikle and Jason Mulvaney; and great-grandchildren Jordyn Gerlach and Kaylee Gerlach, Owen Mulvaney, Greylon Mulvaney, Jalynn Lush, Millie Lush, Salem Meikle and Jace Meikle; along with nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers Wayne Henley, Donald Henley and Harold Henley.
