Barbara Jean Beaman, 89, of Nokomis, died on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019, at 7:20 p.m. at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with pastor Mark Milhouse officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Mrs. Beaman was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Coffeen, to Clifford and Leatha (Pickeral) Savage. She married Alvin Beaman on Aug. 21, 1949, in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2005.
A farm wife, she was a member of the Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the 40 and 8 Auxiliary.
Mrs. Beaman is survived by a son, Ronald (wife Patty) Beaman; grandchildren, Ashley N. Beaman of Nokomis and Brandon (Valerie) Beaman of Mt. Olive; and great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Zaeden Beaman and Jake and Dexter Frizzo.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Chris Beaman; and brother Bill Savage.
