Mrs. Strandberg was born Aug. 23, 1951, in Hillsboro, to Donald and Mildred (Hiller) Jett. She married Gary Strandberg on May 21, 1971, at the Presbyterian Church in Donnellson, and he survives.

She was raised and educated in Hillsboro, where she graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1969. Following her marriage, she and her husband made their home in Hillsboro.

During her career, Mrs. Strandberg worked as a certified nurse’s assistant for the Greenville Hospital and Hillsboro Area Hospital. She later transferred to the Minot Air Force Base Hospital, where she worked in various departments including OB, transcription and mental and psychiatric health. During this time, she soared.

She was very well respected and admired by patients, colleagues and superiors, and earned many recognitions and honors over the years. She was a shining light and service example of God. She drew people in and shared her love for God, changing the lives of many along the way. She retired on April 31, 2014.

Mrs. Strandberg was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church in Minot, where she was active in all ministeries of the church, serving as a helping hand when needed.

She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping at Lake Metigoshe and fishing. She enjoyed entertaining at holidays and riding horseback. She loved to collect Jim Shore handcrafted designs and going to auctions (always keeping her “reserved” seat) for the bargains and treasures, but more importantly, the fellowships and conversations.

Mrs. Strandberg loved keeping in touch with family members and the friends she met along the way. She loved Illinois mushrooms, and was a wonderful cook, often inventing wonderful creations by just throwing together something she had in her pantry. She loved unconditionally and forgave all things quietly, big or small. She had a fierce, humble strength which always protected all those blessed enough to have her in their lives. She will be missed.

In addition to her husband of 49 years, she is survived by her children, Tim (Mary Grace) Strandberg of Minot, ND, Aaron (Kim) Strandberg of Fargo and Allen Touche of Minneapolis; grandchildren, Helena and Edwardson of Gudivada, India, Tyler (fiancee Paige) of Bismarck, Kaitlyn and Morgan of Fargo, Carlton Touche; sister, Terri (Ron) Duff of Donnellson; nephew, Ryan (Rachel) Duff of Donnellson; niece, Mandy (Duff) Wessell of Hillsboro; great-nephews and nieces, Zach and Cooper Duff of Donnellson and Adaley and Abram Wessell of Hillsboro; and loving family in the Hillsboro and Greenville areas.
