Ben W. Pope, 48, of Raymond, died on  Oct. 13, 2019, in Farmersville.

Visitation will be held on Thursday Oct. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Community of Faith Living Center in Raymond. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. also at the Community of Faith Living Center. Hough Funeral Homes is assisting the family.

Mr. Pope was born on April 5, 1971, in Hillsboro  to William and Barbara (Hefley) Pope.

A veteran of the United States Navy, he attended MTI for welding and was employed by the Village of Raymond Street Department for many years.

Mr. Pope was known for his musical talent, playing guitar for area bands that included, Lil Higgy and the House Reckers, Home by 11, Murder of Crowes, FUBAR Blues Band, Antone and The Blue Shadows and Mike Kraner and the Silver Tones among others. He was always up for an impromptu jam session with anyone who wanted to play.

He is survived by his parents Bill and Barb Pope of Raymond and a sister, Julie Pope of Knoxville, TN.

Memorials may be given to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
