Bennie E. Humphrey, 59, of Nokomis and formerly of Irving, died on July 6, 2023, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 4 p.m. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with funeral services to follow at 5 p.m.
He was born in Waynesboro, MS, on Jan. 31, 1964 to Eugene and JoAnn (Abrahams) Humphrey. He worked on drilling rigs with welding and seismographs. He loved to work with his hands, and enjoyed carpentry, arts, crafts and automobiles.
He is survived by his companion of over 26 years, Cindy Mansley; children Jacob Mercer of Waynesboro, MS, Lavone Humphrey of Los Banos, CA, Tiffany Payne of Stillwater, OK and Cahokia Humphrey of Nokomis; siblings Brenda White of OR, Wayne Humphrey of Thailand and Joe Humphrey of MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lindell White.
