Bertie (Bruner) Basiewicz, recently of Auburn, died Saturday, July 24, 2021, at home in Pine Bluff, AR.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Basiewicz was born Nov. 17, 1944, in Kentucky, the youngest child of George and Lucy Bruner. She married Steve Basiewicz, and he preceded her in death.

A 1963 graduate of Freetown High School in Freetown, IN, she met her husband, Steve her senior year of high school and married him two years later. She was a Navy wife, who lived up and down the east coast during their early years of marriage. They returned to Indiana before finally settling in central Illinois, where she lived the majority of her life.

She worked as a supervisor/troubleshooter in an electronic assembly factory, where she honed her natural organization skills. She was the first employee outside of the founder’s family. She enjoyed being outside, working in the yard, riding motorcycles and crossword puzzles. She was loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Basiewicz is survived by her son, Steven Tod Basiewicz of Chagrin Falls, OH; daughter, Lori Anne Basiewicz of Pine Bluff, AR; her life companion, Grover Sargeant of Raymond; two sisters; her grandson, Talon Basiewicz; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, BG.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
