Betty (Casey) Feeny, 92, of Benld, formerly of Raymond, died on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at HSHS St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Feeny was born Nov. 1, 1926, in Coffeen, to John and Minnie (Matheny) Casey. She married Lester Feeny on Jan. 15, 1946, in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death.
During WWII, she worked on an assembly line in Chicago, then served on the family dairy farm for many years.
Mrs. Feeny was an avid gardener, seamstress and baker, and had many fond memories of her Birthday Club. She was also a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan.
She is survived by two children, Patti (Rick) Whitehead of Girard and Dennis Feeny of Benld; seven grandchildren, Matt (Michelle) Waldeck of Raymond, Jason (Pam) Waldeck of Farmersville, Holly (John) Schneider of Bradenton, FL, Deidre (Paul) Jones of Manchester, MO, Damian (Janetta) Feeny of Highland, Daniela (Jason) Mewes of DeSoto, MO, and Demi Feeny of Springfield, MO; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Andy (Mary) Casey and Jay (Sherlyn) Casey; one sister, Kay (George) Fialkowski; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Feeny was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Wayne (Jean) Casey; and three sisters, Barb (Butch) Hammond, Fran (Nello) Catalani and Marie (Scott) George.
