Betty Jane Goby, 102, of Raymond, died at 3:00 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at A Community of Faith Church in Raymond. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at the church, with the Rev. Tom Mulch and Pastor Jen Fielden co-officiating. Burial will be held at Raymond City Cemetery in Raymond. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.

Mrs. Goby was born Feb. 11, 1917, near Harvel, to Gaines C. and Rebecca (Westhoff) Owens. She married Albert W. "Sonny" Goby, on June 3, 1936, in Litchfield, and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1992.

A life-long Raymond resident, Mrs. Goby was a housewife and farmwife, who enjoyed quilting and sewing. A member of A Community of Faith Church in Raymond, she was also a member of the Home Extension, Mariners, Quilt Club, Senior Citizens, Meals on Wheels and Singles Group, and was a 4-H leader as well.

She is survived by seven children, Jane Ethen of Butler, Larry (wife, Doris) Goby of McAllen, TX, Gary (wife, Caren) Goby of Albany, OR, Dale (wife, Marilyn) Goby of Boyne City, MI, Judy (husband, Lou) Weitekamp of Raymond, Terry (wife, Theresa) Goby of Raymond and Jayneece (husband, Larry) Bostwick of Chatham; 19 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, at birth, and five brothers.
