Betty Lucille Hudson, 89, of Litchfield, died on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at 12:35 a.m. in Copper Creek Cottages Memory Care in Litchfield.
The family will hold a private celebration of her life at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Deck Major, on Sat., Sept. 28 at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hudson was born on Sept. 12, 1930 in Zanesville Township, to Benjamin and Carrie (Gilbert) Wright. She married Donald Lee Jones on Feb. 14, 1948, they later divorced. She married Charles William Hudson on June 22, 1980, he preceded her in death on May 28, 1988.
Mrs. Hudson was a homemaker. She was a member of HSHS St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary and Women of the Moose in Litchfield. She enjoyed reading and traveling. Mrs. Hudson especially enjoyed fishing and wintering in South Padre Island, TX. Most of all she loved being with her family and particularly adored her grandchildren.
Mrs. Hudson is survived by her children, David A. Jones and Donna (Deck) Major, both of Litchfield; two sisters, Mary Leitschuh of Urbana, MO, and Darlene Washington of Huntsville, TX; and four grandchildren, Bryan (Andrea) McLean Jenkins, Kyle (Brittany) McLean Jenkins, Adam (Becky) D. Jones and Megan (Ryan) Murray; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Howard and Gilbert Wright; and four sisters, Dessa Varner, Opal Johns, Helen Smith and Frances Oller.
