Betty Louise Ott, 92, of Hillsboro, died on Friday, April 14, 2023, at 6:55 a.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.
A private family graveside service will be conducted at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro with the Rev. Ralph Ward officiating. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family.
Mrs. Ott was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Hillsboro, to Ernest and Hazel (Micenhiemer) Vogel. She married James Robert Ott on June 21, 1952, at First Baptist Church in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2012.
She was a high school graduate who worked at Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company. A lifetime Hillsboro resident, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
Mrs. Ott is survived by her children, Andrew (Kari) Ott of Tennessee and Phillip (wife Ann) Ott of Springfield; grandchildren, Amber Miles of Taylorville, Jacob Ott and Tyler (wife Kaylie) Ott, both of Springfield, Joshua (wife Emily) Ott of Columbia, Dr. Andrew (fiancee Jacqueline Estrada) Ott of Hillsboro, Jason (wife Danielle) Ott of Windsor, CO, and Isabella Ott of Litchfield; great-grandchildren, Jackson Ott, Fletcher Saathoff, Justice Miles, Logan Ott, Ella Ott and Connor Ott; and siblings, Burl Vogel, Merle Vogel and Bonnie Boston.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Vogel and William Vogel; and sister, Mercedes Lessman.
