Mrs. Rovey was born on Aug. 1, 1928, in Pawnee, to White and Dorothy (Barnett) VanHuss, one of 11 children. She grew up in the small town of Virden and attended a country school up until the sixth grade.

After some persuading, she went on a date with Amos Rovey and it didn’t take him long to propose. They were married on Nov. 28, 1945, in Farmersville and made their first home in Thomasville. Shortly after, they moved to a farm in Litchfield, where they raised all of their children and she helped her husband on the farm.

Mrs. Rovey was a homemaker and a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crediting her favorite family times were always going to church together. Mrs. Rovey enjoyed all the holidays and they were celebrated with big meals which she enjoyed preparing. She also had an artistic side that shined throughout her latch hook and the pictures she painted.

Mrs. Rovey is survived by her son, David (Sherry) Rovey of Raymond; daughters,                                   Karen (Harry) Pinkerton of Litchfield, Emma (Jim) Bergman of Greenville, Sharon (Phil) Bryant of Litchfield, Ruth (Mark) Jarman of Litchfield and Amy Rovey of Litchfield; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jasper Rovey; five brothers; and two sisters.
