Beulah B. (Carlock) Castleman, 91, of Sorento, died Monday, June 3, 2019, at 8:20 a.m. at her residence.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 7, at 10 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Coffeen, with the Rev. Don Price, pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Coffeen officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Coffeen.

Mrs. Castleman was born March 6, 1928, in Coffeen, the daughter of the late Virgil and Mary (Criner) Carlock. She married Melvin E. Castleman on May 11, 1970, in East St. Louis, and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2001.

A graduate of Coffeen High School, she was a secretary at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis, MO. 

During her lifetime, she lived in Granite City, Arizona and Sorento since 1972.

She is survived by her children, Allen (wife Marsha) Ellsworth and Tim (wife Kim) Ellsworth, both of Donnellson; seven grandchildren, Kelly Ellsworth, Keith Ellsworth, Kim Smith, Tina Powell, Natalie Bellovich, Carrie Gass and Nicole Shomaker; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Jewell White, Wanda Compton, Nelda Adkisson and Melba Lee Olson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Roger Ellsworth on Oct. 19, 2010.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
