Bicentennial Banners Need Community Help

The Montgomery County Bicentennial Committee is asking for community support in order to place large vertical banners on the light posts around the courthouse square.

Most of the money budgeted for the bicentennial by the county is going toward the large bicentennial event at the county fairgrounds on June 5, so the committee decided to make an appeal to the public to help offset the cost of the banners.

Eight banners are needed and will be printed locally by AJ Banners at a cost of $75 each.  On each banner will be printed “200th Birthday” and a picture of the historic courthouse.

The banners will be displayed extensively throughout this bicentennial year.  Individuals, organizations, or businesses have an opportunity to purchase a banner or may make a donation toward the cost of a banner by calling Patty Whitworth at 217-246-2806.
