Billie Jean Pesavento, 89, of Staunton, died on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 6, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Burial was at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. A memorial dinner was held at the VFW hall in Staunton on Saturday evening. Williamson Funeral Home of Staunton assisted the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Pesavento was born on July 8, 1930, in St. Louis, MO, to Mose and Cassie Burdell. She grew up in Litchfield with seven siblings. On May 29, 1948, she married Selvio Pesavento, in Litchfield. They were married for 44 years before he preceded her in death. The couple had three children and raised their family in Staunton.

Mrs. Pesavento was a parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church. Following retirement, she spent her time volunteering at St. Michaels' School in Staunton.

Mrs. Pesavento  loved children, her family and enjoying life to the fullest. Her most cherished title was Granny and she was loved by all who came in contact with her. Mrs. Pesavento was known for her vibrant spirit and contagious smile, which touched many lives. She rarely complained, always smiled and welcomed everyone. Her favorite days were spent baking, crocheting, working on word puzzles and making those around her happy.

Mrs. Pesavento  is survived by her children, Nancy (Mike) Burdell, Beverly (Todd) Moehlmann and Keith (Mary Kay) Pesavento; grandchildren, Bryant (Terri) Burdell, Kelly (Brandon) Wagner, Amy Pierard, Jody Burdell, Shaun Bond, Mattie Pesavento, Jesse McCollum, Steven Pesavento, Abigail Pesavento, and Natalie Pesavento; great-grandchildren, Nichole Burdell, Morgan Wagner, Emily Pierard, Chelsie Nance, Aleece Wagner, Tristan Burdell, Carson Wagner, Cassie Gray, and Carly Gray; and siblings, Barbara (John) Klekamp, Dick (Vonda) Burdell, and Raymond (Frannie) Burdell.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Bobby Jordan, Charles, Fred and Phillip Burdell; and a sister, Betty Jordan.
