Bob L. Clanton, 92

Bob Lavern Clanton, 92, of Coffeen, died on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 7:15 a.m. at his residence.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 31, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Daniel R. White of Coffeen officiating. Burial will take place in Donnellson Cemetery.

Mr. Clanton was born Aug. 28, 1926, in Reno, to Brian and Lena (Schmidt) Clanton. He married Margaret Ilene Loew on June 30, 1956, in Donnellson, and she survives.

During his career, he worked at the rock quarry in Nokomis for 33 years, formerly known as Bramer Quarry before it was sold to Material Services.

Mr. Clanton loved woodworking, refinishing antiques, working in his garden and bird watching, especially hummingbirds. He lived in the Donnellson and Coffeen areas during his lifetime.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Brenda (husband Larry) Ackerman of Hillsboro and Rebecca (fiance Ken Johnson) Clanton of Raymond.

Mr. Clanton was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, Harold, Jack, Everett, Gilbert and Wes Clanton.

Memorials may be directed to Donnellson Cemetery.
