Brian Thomas Thompson, 47, of Highland, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, in Herrin.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thompson was born in Hillsboro on Aug. 5, 1978, a son of James Martin Thompson Sr. and Wanda Lorraine (Reed) Thompson.
Mr. Thompson was employed as a salesclerk at Goodwill Industries in Marion. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, and dancing. He cared for and loved all animals. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his parents, James M. and Marjorie Thompson of Litchfield and Wanda L. and Daniel G. Straeter of Highland; son, Tyler Thompson of Litchfield; siblings, James M. (Julie) Thompson, Jr. of Taylorville and Natasha (Jim Gray) Thompson of Litchfield; grandchildren, Jace Thompson and Daylon Dowdy; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a niece, Haley Thompson.
