Bruce Martin Floyd, 66, of Butler, died on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, at 9:25 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

A celebration of life open house will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Broad Street Grill in Hillsboro. Bass, Patton, Dean Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Floyd was born on Sept. 4, 1950, in Hillsboro, to the late William "Bill" Floyd Sr. and Helen (Mobley) Floyd. He married Meta Jo (Shannon) Floyd on Oct. 28, 2000 in Springfield, and she survives in Butler.  He graduated from Hillsboro High School, attended the University of Illinois and went on to graduate from St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

During his career, Mr. Floyd worked as a pharmacist  up until his illness.

Survivors include his wife, Meta Jo (Shannon) Floyd of rural Butler, along with their three sons, Baron Floyd, Henry Floyd and Quaid Floyd. Other survivors include daughter Kate (husband Todd) Miller of Springfield and their two daughters, Izabella Miller and Kendall Miller and daughter Jenny (husband John) VanValer of Indianapolis, IN and their two daughters, Bobbie VanValer and Marian VanValer.  He is also survived by one brother, Bill (wife Marilyn) Floyd Jr of Evanston.

Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, W.E. Floyd in infancy and Brian J. Floyd on July 29, 2000, and his first wife Bobbie (Adams) Floyd in 1995.
