Bulldogs Beat Lady Panthers For 2nd Win

The Staunton Lady Bulldogs posted their second consecutive tournament win Tuesday evening, Nov. 23, with a 45-13 decision over the winless Litchfield Lady Panthers. 

Leading by 14 at the end of the first eight minutes, the Bulldogs again scored in double figures in the second quarter and led by 21 at the half as the Lady Panthers continue to search for a consistent method of scoring.

Litchfield’s sole basket in the third period came from Lily Braasch. Freshmen Elise Walch scored the only field goal in the fourth and Madisyn Bremerkamp converted one of two charity tosses.

Caidy Tuetken led the Bulldog scoring with 10 points, followed by Savannah Billings with nine and Haris Legendre with eight. 

Staunton connected for 16-of-57 shots from the floor and went 3-of-14 from behind the arc. They had 16 offensive rebounds and 17 defensive.

The Lady Panthers converted 6-of-28 shots from the floor, grabbed three offensive and 17 defensive rebounds and had 12 steals. They were 0-for-7 from the three-point mark. 

Freshman Gina Painter grabbed five rebounds, Laura Boston and Lily Braasch each had four and freshman Elise Walch pulled down three. Braasch also had four points and three steals and Laura Boston, Hailey Rentz and Carly Guinn all recorded two steals.

In Tuesday’s other game, Carlyle moved to 3-0 with a 58-21 win over Southwestern.
