Camilla (Paden) Mayer, 102, of Arlington, MA, died on Sunday, April 12, 2020, at Park Avenue Health Center in Arlington, MA.

Mrs. Mayer was born on April 8, 1918, to Rice and Norma (Turner) Paden at their home in the Woodsboro neighborhood, southwest of Hillsboro. She graduated from Hillsboro Community High School with the class of 1936.

Following high school graduation, she worked in St. Louis, then joined the Red Cross and lived overseas for three years. While overseas, Mrs. Mayer met her future husband, Dr. Robert A. Mayer, and they were married in 1947, at Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, and he preceded her in death.

Their family lived in the St. Louis area, where Dr. Mayer was a physician at the Missouri Baptist Hospital. After Dr. Mayer retired, they moved first to the Poconos, where they had spent many summers, and then to the Boston area, to be closer to their family.

Mrs. Mayer was the family historian, and she and her husband traveled with family members to Scotland and Ireland, where the Paden family originated.

She is survived by two sons, Robert A. Mayer, Jr. and Timothy (Gail) Hanson-Mayer; a granddaughter, Vanessa (partner Junior Obionwu); and great-granddaughter, Scarlett.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mayer was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Norma (Paden) Cummings; and grandson, Dylan Hanson-Mayer.
