Golf. Food. Helping causes in need. That would have been a near perfect day for the late Camren Neisler. Now, it's a perfect day for his family and friends to remember him as preparations are underway for the second annual Camren's On The Green Memorial Golf Tournament.

The son of Tim Neisler and Brandy Chausse, Neisler was a 2018 graduate of Nokomis High School and member of the Ramsey-Nokomis co-op golf team, who passed away on Oct. 25, 2018.

To honor his memory, the Camren's On The Green Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, March 28, at Oak Terrace Golf Course in Pana. Proceeds from the event will go toward a scholarship and community improvement projects in Neisler's name.

Last year's event raised more than $28,000 and funded six junior college scholarships to Nokomis High School Students. The funds also helped create a nine-hole mini-golf course at Shane Cole Park in Nokomis, with each hole honoring Neisler and something he loved.

The event has also spurred other fundraisers, including a Queen of Hearts raffle at The Depot in Nokomis. The Camren's Causes group has helped several other community projects as well, including the fundraising efforts for the Nokomis Memorial Pool and the Nokomis Food Pantry, which received a truckload of food in June.

The cost to play in the four-person scramble is $75 per person, with the entry fee covering greens fees, a cart and dinner, which will include mostaccoli, salad, breadsticks and a drink. Tickets for the dinner only are also available for $15.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for the event. Condor sponsorships are $500 and include shirt recognition, sponsorship of a hole, four mega raffle tickets and a team entry. Eagle sponsorships are $250 and include shirt recognition, sponsorship of a hole, two mega raffle tickets and two dinner tickets.

Birdie sponsorships are $100 and include shirt recognition and sponsorship of a hole. Par sponsorships are $50 and include shirt recognition.

Sponsorships and team entry forms are due by Thursday, Feb. 20, and payment and forms can be sent to Brandy Chausse, 19396 North 21st Avenue, Nokomis, IL 62075.
