Carl N. Smith, 94, of Orlando, FL, formerly of Coffeen, died on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, in his home.

Cremation rites were accorded and his ashes were scattered at his wife's gravesite at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, FL.

Mr. Smith was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Coffeen, to Blane P. Smith and Fern H. Booher. He married Pricey Fuller on Oct. 21, 1977, and she preceded him in death in 1996.

He served in the Army Air Force as a radio operator on a B17 Bomber in the 379th Bomb Group during the World War II era. He was stationed in England for four years and flew numerous missions, including several over Berlin. A lifetime member of the group, his decorations and citation consisted of three overseas service bars including European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver Battle Star, one Bronze Battle Star and a Good Conduct Medal.

Mr. Smith was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Orlando, FL, and had a deep love for the Lord. He battled diabetes and heart disease valiantly for over ten years.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Norman and Ralph Steven.
