Carol A. Dever, 76, of Fillmore, formerly of Ramsey, died Saturday, May 8, 2021, at her home.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Ramsey, and on Wednesday, May 12,  from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church.  Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Jeff Shouse officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ramsey. Miller Funeral Home in Ramsey is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Dever was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Cowden, the daughter of Captain and Betty June (Williams) Leigh. She married Ronald Edward Dever on Oct. 30, 1965, and he preceded her in death in 2000. 

A former waitress and manager at Betty Leigh’s Cafe in Ramsey, she was also a waitress at the Chuckwagon Cafe in Vandalia. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ramsey.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Delbert) Roberts of Ramsey and Tammy (Geoff) Trost of Hillsboro; brothers, Tom Leigh and Ronnie (Kay) Leigh, all of Ramsey; sisters, Betty Moreland, Sandra Cook, Connie Warburton and Barbara Smith, all of Ramsey, Susie Miller of Vandalia, Dana Baker of Cowden and Diane (Meredith) Miller of Blue Mound; grandchildren, Michael (Chasity) Roberts and  Mathew (Asheli) Roberts and Kayla Trost; and great-grandchildren, Archer, Quade, Charlotte and Mila.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by  her brother, Captain Leigh.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels and/or St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ramsey.
