Carol Jean Owens, 88, formerly of Witt, died on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at Litchfield Heath and Rehab Center.
A funeral service for Mrs. Owens will take place at noon on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis with Pastor Jeff VanDyke officiating. The visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service and burial will be in the Witt Cemetery.
Mrs. Owens was born on Sept. 23, 1937, in Witt, the daughter of Delbert and Cleo (Oller) Garwood. She married Donald McManus in 1957 in Witt, and he preceded her in death. She later married Douglas Owens in 1985 in Witt, and he also preceded her in death.
She worked at Lipic Pen Company in St. Louis for over 20 years. She enjoyed bowling and playing darts and was a member of the Witt Lioness Club.
Mrs. Owens is survived by her children, Terry McManus (Lisa), Gary McManus (Kim) and Mary Rotellini, all of St. Louis, MO; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; special niece, Linda Davidson of Litchfield; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry McManus; siblings, Lemar Garwood, Norman Garwood, Gerald “Jerry” Garwood, Nancy Gruen, Grace Meier, Alice Lindsay and Edward Lee Garwood.
Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis is assisting the family with arrangements.
