Carroll Eugene White, 73, of Brighton, died Monday, April 26, 2021, at OSF St. Anthony Health Center in Alton.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 30, at Zion Lutheran Church in Shipman with Pastors John Lottes and Ray Robinson co-officiating. Burial was held in Shipman Cemetery. Anderson Family Funeral Home assisted the family.
Mr. White was born Feb. 3, 1948, in Alton, to Charles Eugene and Merl Adelle (Dunlap) White. He married Shirley Wood on April 3, 1969, in Shipman, and she survives.
After attaining his bachelor’s degree in teaching, from Southern Illinois University–Edwardsville, he spent most of his life in banking, working for Godfrey State Bank, and later for Bank of America as a compliance officer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shipman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lisa White of Wood River and Stephen (Ally) White of Brighton; one granddaughter, Marley; one grandson, Karson; two brothers, Clinton (Cindy) White of Godfrey and Chris (Marienne) White of Litchfield; and three sisters, Colette (Lyn) Miller of Brighton, Mary Albert of Godfrey and Barb (Jeff) Kruse of Brighton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Lawrence Albert; and in-laws, Clyde and Daisy Wood.
