Catherine Ruth Porter, 70, of Litchfield, died on Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 3:30 p.m. in her home.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield is assisting the family.
Ms. Porter was born April 27, 1949, in Litchfield, to George Zachary and Rosemary Vaughn (Long) Neldon.
She graduated from Litchfield High School with the class of 1967 and earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Lincoln Land Community College.
During her career, Ms. Porter served as a registered nurse at Friendship Home in Carlinville until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and watching movies.
Ms. Porter is survived by her daughter, Joanna Gasperson of Litchfield; brother, Paul (Paula) Dutton of Palm Bay, FL; three sisters, Mary Jo (Ernie) Tooley of Litchfield, Janis Hand and Lori Pahde, both of Virginia; and two grandchildren, Drake and Alexandria Gasperson.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
