Chamber Will Throw Party In Litchfield This Weekend

Litchfield Chamber of Commerce will hold their 39th Party In The Park this weekend, Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21. The long-held tradition will take place in downtown Litchfield and is sure to provide entertainment for those of all ages.

The party will kick off on Friday, with a welcome from the Litchfield Chamber dignitaries at 4 p.m. Also at 4 p.m., exhibitor booths will open and Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634 will host bingo. Opening ceremonies will start at 4:30 p.m., with the Litchfield High School Band to perform the national anthem.

The carnival will open from 5 to 9 p.m. with wristbands to be sold for $20. Younique Dance Studio will entertain attendees with a performance at 5 p.m. The beer wagon will also open at 5 p.m. The Spelling Bee, sponsored by Century 21 Reid-Baugher Realty, will begin at 6 p.m.

  The popular Litchfield based band 10-55 will take the Main Street Stage from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Friday night. The classic rock/pop cover band plays a variety of songs from the 1970's and 1980's with a splash of current music.

Party in the Park festivities will continue on Saturday, morning, Sept. 21. Athletes will need to be up bright and early for the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. The tournament will begin at 8 a.m. with registration to start at 7:30 a.m. Fees are set at $20 per player and teams may consist of up to four players, which includes a substitute.

Litchfield Moose Lodge #1634 will host Bingo from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Culinary enthusiasts will not want to miss a Taste of Litchfield, which is slated to open at noon on Saturday. Exhibitor booths and food trailers will also open at noon. Carnival rides and games will resume from 1 to 4 p.m., with wristbands to be sold for $20. Saturday's entertainment line-up includes Rampage Championship Wrestling shows at 1 and 4 p.m.

The 2019 Party in the Park celebration will culminate with the Litchfield Royalty Pageants, which will begin at 6 p.m. on the Main Street Stage. The Little Miss and Little Mr. Litchfield Chamber contestants will be the first to take the stage, followed by the Junior Miss Litchfield Chamber contestants and ending with the Miss Litchfield Chamber of Commerce pageant.
