Charles C. Campbell, 71, of Staunton, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 10:50 p.m. at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Memorial services were held Sunday, July 29, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie with Pastor Larry Moreau officiating.

Mr. Campbell was born Jan. 28, 1947, in Gillespie, to Norman Campbell and Evelyn (Heath) Campbell.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, and went on to work as a carpenter.

Mr. Campbell was a past member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW in Staunton, Mt. Olive Jaycees, Carpenters Union of Litchfield and the Miners Football Team.

He is survived by his children, Charles (Michelle) Campbell, Jr. of Port Orchard, WA, Carrie (Campbell) Cannon of Neenah, WI, and Timothy Campbell of Wilsonville; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Wade) Stanley of Clayton, NC; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Norman LeRoy CampbellĀ  and Eugene (Ronica) Campbell, both of Gillespie, and Barbara (Kenneth) Rose of Bunker Hill; sisters-in-law, Linda Campbell of Staunton and Rita Campbell of Jerseyville; and a brother-in-law, Billy Malloy of Coffeen.

Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William and Frank Campbell; two sisters, Norma Nance and Margaret Malloy; one brother-in-law, Lyle Nance; and one sister-in-law, June Campbell.
