Charles “Chuck” Gene Kesky, 74, of Riverton, died on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

Visitation will be held from  9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Staab Funeral Home in Sherman. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home, with Reverend Pat G. Jakel officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted. CDC protocols will be followed. Staab Funeral Home in Sherman is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Kesky was born on Dec. 28, 1946, in Hillsboro, the son of Charles and Sophie (Pundzus) Kesky and they preceded him in death. He married Marsha Lyons on June 7, 1986, and she survives. Mr. Kesky graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1965. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1966 and served in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967.

Mr. Kesky was employed with Pana-Hillsboro Insurance and the Illinois Department of Revenue in the Information Services Division for 27 years, retiring in 2001. He belonged to St. James Catholic Church in Riverton. He enjoyed golfing, especially in his league at the Oaks, and spending time with his family and friends.

Mr. Kesky is survived by his wife; children, Rich (Tammy) Kesky of Florida, Amee (Curt Dailey) Kesky of Springfield and Matt Kesky of Riverton; two granddaughters, Megan and Brooke Kesky; two sisters, Rose Jones of Nokomis and Barb Kesky of Collinsville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
