Charles M. "Chal" Golitko, 92, of Witt, died Monday, July 15, 2019, at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Hillsboro.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Witt. Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 22, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis with the Very Rev. Albert Allen, V.F. officiating. Burial will be held in St. Barbara's Catholic Cemetery in Witt. Military rites will be conducted at graveside.

Mr. Golitko was born Nov. 30, 1926, in Coalton, the son of Steve and Anna (Yarapko) Golitko. He married Barbara Lowe on April 14, 1951, at St. Barbara's Church in Witt, and she survives in Witt.

A graduate of high school, he was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served during WWII.

He worked at Bridgestone Firestone, and was a member of the Witt Lions Club, Sportsman's Club and the American Legion.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Charles A. (Sherrie) Golitko of Gillespie, Susan (Phil) Keppler of Hot Springs, SD, and Michael (Elizabeth) Golitko of Witt; grandchildren, Charles (Jessica) Golitko, Carrie (Donald) Huber, Aaron (Andrea) Golitko and Natasha (Dalton) Downs; and great-grandchildren, Dominic and Margaret Golitko, Alexa, Sarah and Andrea Huber, and Cohen, Grace, Nolan and Bryce Golitko.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Andrew, Joe and Steve Golitko; and sisters, Julieann Guidish and Margaret Zawadzki.
