Charles Otto Trader, 69, of Hillsboro, died at 12:32 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2023 at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Private family services will be held at a later date at Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Trader was born Jan. 18, 1954 in Decatur, to the late Charles R. and Mona (Richter) Trader. He married Theresa “Terry” McMahon at St. John’s Church in Champaign, and she survives in Hillsboro.
After graduating high school, Mr. Trader served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era, and would graduate from diesel mechanic technical school. Throughout his life he would work as a truck driver and in semi repair on I-55, while living in Champaign, Carbondale, Fillmore and Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
