Charles Ray File, 79, formerly of Litchfield, died on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia, WA.

A graveside service will be held at a later date at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Honey Bend.

Mr. File was born on Oct. 12, 1941, in Litchfield.

He attended school in Litchfield and graduated with the class of 1960. After high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force. 

Mr. File returned to Litchfield after his service and worked for the Kas Potato Chip Company until moving to Lacey, WA, where he worked for Kelly Clark Company until his retirement.

He enjoyed trapshooting and belonged to the Sportsman’s clubs in Litchfield and Lacey, WA. He also enjoyed gardening and traveling, and coordinated Depression Annonymous classes for many years in Lacey, WA.

Mr. File is survived by his brother, Bill (Peggy) File of Camano Island, WA; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Joyce Gifford of Bement; Julie Wright and Mandie Lutz, who were like daughters to him; neighbors, Wally and Sofie Potter, who were always there for each other, and their son Jerry Potter, who gave Mr. File’s dog, Emily, a loving home after his passing.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel (Weatherford) File; sisters, Rachel Jarvis and Helen Holok.
