Charles W. McCoy, Jr., 77, of Staunton, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at Heritage Health in Staunton.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 23, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor Doris Ely officiating. Burial was held in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. The Staunton Military Honor Guard will conduct graveside rites.

Mr. McCoy was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Boonville, IN, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. McCoy, Sr. 

He worked as a welder repairman for the Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO, for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era.

A member of the First United Baptist Church of Staunton, he was a life member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, a strong UAW member and was a huge Chicago Cubs fan.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Cindy McCoy of Staunton; two grandchildren, Travis McCoy of Staunton and Angela (Zachary) Page of Hillsboro; one great-grandson, Roy Page of Hillsboro; two sisters, Darlene Chumbley of Missouri and Caroline (George) Finn of Pacific, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
