Charles ‘Charlie’ Wayne Range, 79, of Farmersville, died on Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced.
Mr. Range was born on Dec. 3, 1946, in White Hall, to Wilfred Wayne Range and his wife Doris Mae (Wilkinson). He was drafted into the United States Army in 1967, proudly serving a one-year tour in Vietnam before being honorably discharged as PFC (P) in 1969.
Mr. Range was an avid collector and recycler of all types of metal. Cruising the back roads was his favorite route everywhere. He enjoyed watching sports, especially football. He was bedbound for the last three years and he really enjoyed his caregivers feeding the wild birds and squirrels so he could watch them from his patio door. He was smart and quirky and had a very kind and loyal heart. Mr. Range was loved and cherished; he was a great friend and will be dearly missed.
Mr. Range was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister, Diana (husband Kurt) Denzel, formerly of Carlinville.
He is survived by two sons that he missed having in his life; niece, Cierra (Cyle) Eller and their children, Caylee and Carl Molohon and Carter, Elijah and Emelia Eller of Carlinville; close friends and caregivers, F.N. (Nikki) Carron of Waggoner and her family.
Everyone who loved Mr. Range would like to thank the Veterans Administration for all the care and services they provided for him. Thank you to all the nurses, therapists, their assistants and staff at Elara Home Health; special thanks to Paula W. and Skylar G.; and to all the caregivers and staff at Addus HomeCare and the Central Cremation Center for the excellent care and service.
Memorials can be sent to Farmersville-Waggoner Fire Protection District, 504 Nobbe St, Farmersville, IL 62533.
