Charlotte L. "Mutzie" Tarter, 89, of rural Ramsey, died on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at her home.

Arrangements are pending at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. A full obituary will be published in a future edition of The Journal-News.

Mrs. Tarter was born Nov. 30, 1929, in Coalton, to Michael J. and Frances K. (Ruffing) Guidish. She married Donald C. Tarter on Jan. 10, 1953, at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Hillsboro, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1998.

She graduated from high school and attended one year of college. She was a farm wife and member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis and the Thrifty Club.

Mrs. Tarter is survived by her son, Kellis M. (Barb) Tarter of Nokomis; daughters, Frances A. (Ron) Singler of Witt and Donna C. Brayfield of Sherman; grandchildren, Ben Tarter, Beth King, Sarah Lehman, Katherine Malveaux, Adam Singler, Matthew Brayfield and Patrick Brayfield; sister, Gloria (Jim) Zupanci of Edwardsville; and a brother, Mike (Linda) Guidish of Springfield.
