Charlotte 'Mutzie' Tarter, 89

Charlotte L. "Mutzie" Tarter, 89, died on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at her home in rural Ramsey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. until noon, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis. Funeral Mass will follow at noon, with the Very Rev. Albert Allen VF officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Nokomis.

Mrs. Tarter was born on Nov. 30, 1929, in Coalton to Michael J. and Frances K. (Ruffing) Guidish. She married Donald C. Tarter on  Jan. 10, 1953, at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Hillsboro, and he died on May 29, 1998. 

During her school career, Mrs. Tarter graduated from high school and attended one year of college. She spent her life as a farm wife and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Nokomis and the Thrifty Club.

Mrs. Tarter is survived by one son, Kellis M. (Barb) Tarter of Nokomis; daughters, Frances A. (Ron) Singler of Witt and Donna C. Brayfield of Sherman; grandchildren, Ben Tarter, Beth King, Sarah Lehman, Katherine Malveaux, Adam Singler, Matthew Brayfield and Patrick Brayfield; great-grandchildren, Carley and Grace King, Hannah and Sydney Tarter, Gauge Lehman, Gabriel and Elsie Malveaux, Olivia and Madyson Brayfield and Henry and Ethan Brayfield; a sister, Gloria (Jim) Zupanci of Edwardsville;  and a brother, Mike (Linda) Guidish of Springfield.
