Clara C. Adler, 71

Clara C. Adler, 71, of Staunton, died at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at her residence in Staunton.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19, from 9 a.m. until time of service at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Services will follow, beginning at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jim Smitherman officiating. Burial will take place at New Douglas City Cemetery.

She was born on January 20, 1947, in Litchfield to the late Jesse Foster and Viola (Kline) Jackson. She married Harold R. "Bud" Adler on May 4, 1979. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2012.

Mrs. Adler was employed as a store manager at Wareco in Staunton and served on the board of directors at New Douglas City Cemetery in New Douglas.

She was very interested in genealogy and also enjoyed quilting, camping and watching movies.

Mrs. Adler is survived by three sisters, June (Charles) Ridens of New Douglas, Cindy Butler of New Douglas and Denise (John) Embry of Staunton; her stepfather, Walter Butler of New Douglas; stepchildren, Vickie Senaldi and Harold "Junior" Adler, both of Staunton; two brothers-in-law, Bill Adler and Johnnie Monroe, both of Staunton; sister-in-law, Mary Adler of Staunton; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Adler was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Donahue, two brothers-in-law, Dewey Lavern Donahue and Robert Hooker, and one sister-in-law, Carolyn Monroe.
