Carly Cameron, a Hillsboro graduate, keeps doing her thing off the bench.
The Illinois College senior, who played 32 minutes in IC's 72-68 overtime loss to Grinnell College, scored a very starter-like 14 points hitting five field goals and four free throws. She also had seven rebounds, three blocked shots and three steals.
In her 24 minutes of play against Ripon College in IC's 82-61 loss to Ripon College, Cameron, who emerged off the bench, had nine points, three rebounds and two assists.
Through 15 games, Cameron has scored 91 points and pulled down 80 rebounds, respective averages of 6.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Cameron has played in every game and averaged 19.7 minutes per game. She has made two starts.
Other stats for the senior include a team-leading 19 blocked shots, 18 steals and 14 assists. She has scored her points by hitting 34 field goals (four treys) and 19 free throws.
Illinois College is 8-7 overall and 4-4 in the Midwest Conference.
Abby Brockmeyer (Lincolnwood) scored points in two of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale's three games that took place between Jan. 10-17. In the 60-57 loss to University of Northern Iowa, Brockmeyer finished with nine points, a team-leading 13 rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals. She finished with four points and five rebounds in SIUC's 70-68 win over Missouri State University. The win snapped SIUC's three-game losing streak. SIUC is 10-6 overall and 2-3 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Sammi Matoush (Hillsboro) scored eight points as her college team, Washington University, lost to Case Western University 74-73. Matoush, who started and played 22 minutes, also had four assists. The Washington Lady Bears are 7-6 overall and 0-2 in the University Athletic Association.
Jade Scroggins (Hillsboro) scored six points in each of Hannibal-LaGrange University's losses to Lindenwood University-Belleville (105-57) and Harris-Stowe State University (96-62). She started both games, playing 25 minutes against LU-Belleville and 22 minutes against Harris-Stowe State. Hannibal-LaGrange is 3-12 overall and 1-9 American Midwest Conference.
Maurice Radtke (Litchfield), a Greenville University track and field athlete, competed in two events at the Illinois Wesleyan University-hosted Titan First Chance Meet. Radtke finished eighth in the shot put, recording a throw of 11.94 meters. He took 13th in the weight throw with an effort of 10.50 meters. Team scores were not kept.
