Corey M. Peat, 29, of Litchfield, died on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at 6:03 a.m. at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Mr. Peat was born Feb. 5, 1991, in Litchfield, to Richard B. and Kimberly (Jones) Peat, Jr.
He attended Litchfield High School and worked with his father on various construction job sites as a general laborer.
Mr. Peat enjoyed working on and riding motorcycles, going mudding and attending Mudfest when he was able.
He is survived by his mother of Litchfield; father (Elizabeth) of Kincaid; brother, Ritchie Peat of Litchfield; sister, Holly Peat of Litchfield; stepsister, Taylor Jones of Taylorville; paternal grandparents, Richard and Cheryl Peat of Tovey and Donna Griffin of Taylorville; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Peat was preceded in death by a child in infancy; daughter, Adysen Peat; and maternal grandparents, Russell and Jeane Jones.
Memorials may be directed to a substance abuse rehabilitation center of the donor’s choice or to the family.
