Dale E. Calame, 80, of Witt, died on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Witt. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 5, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Casual attire is requested. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Irving.
Mr. Calame was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Witt, to Shirley E. and Zella P. (Bassham) Calame. He married Brenda J. Sanders on March 30, 1963, in Pana, and she survives.
He graduated high school and became a farmer. He was a member of the Moose and the Rountree Gun Club.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Calame is survived by his grandsons, Cole Calame and Ian Redman; and a sister, Delores (husband Norm) Bafunno of Chesterfield, MO.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jodi Calame on March 17, 1997; his son, Lynn Calame on Aug. 3, 2013; parents; and a sister, Betty Bohannon.
