Dale Eugene Weller, Sr., 93, of Litchfield, died on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at 2:35 p.m. at his home in Litchfield.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 27, from 11 a.m. until the time of service, at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will begin at noon at the funeral home, with Pastor Rudy Elam officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield. Litchfield Family Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Weller was born on Sept. 7, 1926, in Litchfield, to  Edgar and Mildred (Hamilton) Weller, the oldest of 13. On July 20, 1948, he married Regina Orblish in Litchfield, she preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 2015. 

Mr. Weller was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He served during World War II in the Pacific Theatre, stationed in the Philippines. Mr. Weller attended Litchfield Schools and was a machine operator at Roller Derby in Litchfield, for 45 plus years.

He enjoyed looking through the ads to find bargains, and his family affectionately referred to him as the gentleman at the checkout lines with stacks of coupons.  Most of the time, Mr. Weller would donate the items that he bought to local charities and loved ones. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. 

Mr. Weller is survived by his children, Dale E. Weller, Jr., of Litchfield and Carol Weller of Sherman; grandchildren, Ryan Bolar of Sherman, Joseph Weller of Oak Park and Lacey (Jeremey) Reisinger of Benld; great-grandchildren, Kyrin Weller, A.J. Reisinger, Kinley, Gavin and Nora Bolar; siblings, Jack (Naomi) Weller of Litchfield, Marvin “Grump” (Jackie) Weller of Independence, MO, Harry (Patty) Weller of Litchfield and Freda Kieslar of Hillsboro. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four brothers; and four sisters.
