Darline Elizabeth Tosetti, 94, of Nokomis, died on Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023 at her home in Nokomis.

Services will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, at Stiehl Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis with Father Michael Meinhart presiding. Visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. prior to the funeral service.

Mrs. Tosetti was born on July 6, 1929, in Morrisonville, to Leland “Lee” and Sadie (Meyer) Lamb. She attended Morrisonville schools and graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in physical education. She came to Nokomis to teach and there met her future husband, James Tosetti. They were married on Dec. 12, 1952, at St. Louis Church in Nokomis, and he preceded her in death on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 1998.

She taught in the Morrisonville School District for most of her career. She was extremely active in many civic activities, having served on the boards of Hillsboro Area Hospital, Nokomis Ambulance Service and BRS Museum. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for more than 70 years and had been a member of the Hillsboro Country Club for many years, where she had served as president, volunteered at numerous golfing events and played many games with friends and family. Anyone who knew her knew that she had three hobbies: golf, cards and yelling bingo!

She is survived by many nieces and nephews from across the USA.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Deloris Kalinoski of California; nephews, Dr. James Tosetti of Oregon and Terry Kalinoski of Kentucky; nieces, Barbara (Tosetti) Selvaggio of Springfield and Anita (Tosetti) Johnson of Wisconsin.

Memorials may be given to St. Louis School in Nokomis or Paws Care.  Online condolences can be left at stiehldawsonfh.com.
